How to play La Primitiva:

The Spanish La Primitiva is one of the longest-running lottery games in the world - having been played since the late 1700's, but leaving the game format very much unchanged. It also remains one of the more challenging games to enter into, with the rewards definately making up for it!

Selecting your lucky lotto numbers for La Primitiva is pretty straightforward, and players need to make a selection of 6 (six) numbers out of 49 numbers. During the game's drawing, organizers will draw a total of 8 (eight) balls; the six main numbers, as well as a bonus 'Complimentary' ball and another bonus 'Reintegro' ball.

If your 6 main numbers match up to the 6 main numbers drawn - along with the Reintegro number - then you will score a top prize tier win in the game; which is the advertised jackpot prize value, inclusive of an extra sum of money.

It is important to remember that, when making your number selection, you are not able to choose your Reintegro number; but rather, it is automatically assigned to your entry by the Spanish National Lottery organizers after your entry has been validated into their system.

Rollover information / Jackpot Prizing:

The Spanish La Primitiva sports a minimum jackpot prize starting off at €3,000,000, and is one of the very few games which isn't limited by a rollover cap - meaning, it will continue to increase in value until it is eventually won.

The biggest prizes won on La Primitiva include €25 million in 2005 and €26 million in 2007. The 2013 rollover run from March to August amounted to a whopping €66.6 million! In 2014 an even bigger jackpot record was set with a €72 million La Primitiva win. There are seven jackpot prize tiers in which players may be able to excise winning.

When to play La Primitiva:

The Spanish La Primitiva game gets drawn twice a week; every Thursday and Saturday at 21h40 CET. The draws are always held at the Loterias y Apuestas del Estado lotto draw studios, which are based in Madrid.
